Lisa A. Ryan serves as the Senior Executive Chief of Staff (CoS) of the Air Traffic Organization (ATO) at the Federal Aviation Administration. As of 2023, the ATO manages the safety and efficiency of: passengers who fly in and out of US airports every day, 520 air traffic control towers, square miles of US domestic airspace, 21 air route traffic control centers, average of daily IFR flights, square miles of oceanic airspace, pieces of equipment and systems, 147 terminal radar approach control facilities, and a federal workforce of approximately employees. The ATO operating budget is approximately $2.58B and consists of eight service units to include: Air Traffic Services, Technical Operations, System Operations Services, Flight Program Operations, Safety & Technical Training, Program Management Organization, Management Services and Mission Support Services. The ATO CoS is the principal advisor to the Chief Operating Officer and the Deputy Chief Operating Officer and serves as a contributing member of the ATO Executive Officers Group.
