ABOUT LIONNEL MAZUBA

I am an Electronics Engineer with a strong ambition to develop the next generation of AI-powered, low-power, intelligent hardware systems. My academic and technical background includes digital signal processing, advanced analog and digital circuits, embedded systems, FPGA design, and PCB development. These skills form the foundation for my growing focus on AI hardware, neuromorphic engineering, and edge intelligence.I am especially passionate about understanding how semiconductor physics, device behavior, and circuit architectures work together to enable efficient computing. This interest is expanding into a deeper study of AI accelerators, systolic arrays, in-memory computing, neuromorphic circuits (LIF neurons, crossbars), and low-power embedded intelligence. My aim is to connect the worlds of electronics and AI by designing hardware that can think, learn, and operate effectively at the edge.Alongside microelectronics, I actively work with embedded C/C++, STM32/ESP32 microcontrollers, FPGA design (Verilog, Xilinx Vivado & Altera), and edge-AI boards, developing practical systems that integrate sensors, real-time processing, and hardware-aware machine learning. I also enjoy creating software interfaces, web applications, and APIs (NestJS) to connect hardware with users and cloud environments.I am equally driven by the challenges of sustainable microelectronics. The future of electronics must tackle e-waste at both the system and semiconductor levels. My long-term goal is to help develop circular and energy-efficient technologies by integrating AI hardware, advanced electronics, and sustainable engineering practices, particularly to foster innovation in Africa.
