About Lintang Sutawika
I am a PhD at Carnegie Mellon University (Starting August 2024). I am interested in understanding how language model capabilities such as In-Context Learning can develop from a model\'s pretraining data. My work involves understanding how language models work and novel methods to expand their capabilities. To date, I have worked on inducing zero-shot model capabilities through multitask finetuning approaches, observing model training dynamics, and investigate methods to extend models to other languages. I am also a researcher and contributor at EleutherAI where I maintain the LM Evaluation Harness, an open source repository that enables reproducible language model evaluation and benchmarking. Some years ago I was a Co-Founder of KonvergenAI, a startup that develops OCR solutions for banking and other industries in Indonesia, until it was acquired by Datasaur.ai where I served as VP of AI.
