ABOUT LINO TOBAR
I am Lino Tobar and I am served in the USMC where I have gained immense satisfaction developing good leadership. I am committed to developing personnel and accomplishing administrative excellence. I have discovered that successful supervisors accomplish at least these 10 basics: First, the Golden Rule-Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. If you want respect, consistency, honesty, fairness, loyalty, kindness, flexibility and empathy, so do your employees. Treat them accordingly.Good supervisors have high integrity. They are honest, sincere, consistent and credible regardless. They say what they mean and follow through. Supervisors must know right from wrong and follow a strong moral and ethical code at work.Every day you must walk the talk—follow the rules, model company culture and values, set an example and show the behaviors and attitudes you expect of your employees. Successful supervisors are humble. Pride, ego, title, authority, power and importance don’t get it! Influence through inspiring rather than commanding or demanding.Good supervisors communicate and interact with employees often and professionally. Listening is imperative! You are there to help others solve problems and build a winning team. Encourage and help identify talents that benefit the team. Good supervisors delegate and build capabilities. They help build capabilities needed to produce good results and provide autonomy to complete tasks on their own with support. Good supervisors lead others to the right answers and solutions. They point to resources, suggest people to talk to for guidance, provide clear instructions and information necessary to do the job and are always available for questions, coaching and extra support.Whether you are developing supervisors who are military personnel, government personnel or private industry personnel, these tips will help you do a better job! I am looking for a spot that needs a real personnel developer!
