Entrepreneur. Educator. Everywoman. Linnie S. Carter, Ph.D, APR (pronounced “Line-knee”) has almost 30 years of experience in public relations, communications and fundraising. She has held leadership positions at many organizations, including four community colleges and two universities. Carter is known for her extensive knowledge of public relations, communications and fundraising; focus on excellence; unparalleled work ethic; and infectious laugh. She is also a change agent and has the uncanny ability to take “messes” – including organizations, situations and projects – and transform them into greatness. Due to her leadership and experience, Carter’s employers and clients have achieved accomplishments ranging from significantly increased public awareness and unprecedented media coverage to record student enrollment and surpassed fundraising goals. According to one of her mentors, Carter is a “Tri-B” – brilliant, bold and beautiful. Carter earned a doctorate from Old Dominion University and master’s and bachelor’s degrees in mass communications from VCU.
