About Lingyu Yang
I am a PhD candidate in Chemical Engineering at the University of Notre Dame. My primary research focuses on the development of advanced energy conversion and storage devices (batteries and fuel cells) with higher performance, lower cost, longer durability, and better safety for a sustainable future.I specialize in novel solid-state and liquid-crystalline electrolytes, as well as composite cathodes for lithium batteries and polymeric anion exchange membranes for alkaline fuel cells. I have experience in organic synthesis and polymerization, battery cell design and membrane fabrications, and materials characterization including NMR, DSC, TGA, ATR-FTIR, UV-Vis, Raman, Synchrotron SAXS/WAXS, SEM-EDS and rheology. I also use EIS and Python for equivalent circuit modeling in battery system, and work on structure-property relationship in polymer membrane system.
