I’m a Legal Director specialising in real asset financing and investment transactions, with a particular focus on Islamic Finance. Over the years, I’ve advised a wide range of UK and international financial institutions, overseas investors, and government clients on complex banking and real estate transactions across the UK.My work often bridges the gap between conventional and Shariah-compliant financing, helping clients structure transactions that are both commercially sound and aligned with their ethical and religious principles. I enjoy working on deals that bring together multiple jurisdictions and disciplines, ensuring that transactions are delivered smoothly and efficiently.Recent highlights include- Advising a Middle Eastern investment advisor on the £42m acquisition of a 300-bed purpose-built student accommodation in London- Representing a Shariah-compliant asset manager on the £43m acquisition of a Grade A London office building, tenanted by the European HQ of a global conglomerate- Acting for a Shariah-compliant bank providing a development facility for projects in the North of England with a GDV of around £25m- Advising a Shariah-compliant investment advisory firm on the £37m acquisition of a department store, blending Islamic and conventional financing to meet GCC investor requirements- Acting for a national government on the £48m acquisition of their new Embassy building in London.I’m passionate about supporting clients who invest in the UK real estate market through innovative and values-driven financing structures.
