Lindsey is an international sustainable development practitioner with 12 years of experience working on social impact projects and programs. She applies a tools from behavioral science, economics, and development practices to design, apply, and evaluate behaviorally-informed policies and interventions which aim to resolve complex development challenges around the world. Her methods include qualitative and quantitative social science research methods and behavioral insights, including social and behavior change communication. Lindsey has worked directly with farmers and community members on behavior change communication strategies for engaging men as allies in gender equity in the US (Promundo-US), curbing gun violence in Colombia (Johns Hopkins Center for Global Health), empowering women-owned vegan businesses in Mexico (Inter-American Development Bank), and reducing childhood stunting through the promotion of food fortification in Tanzania (USAID & ACDI/VOCA). She has offered behavioral insights to governments, policies, and programs in developing countries, including with USAID and the Inter-American Development Bank. She finds that the behavioral approach to development offers cost-effective solutions to reduce extreme poverty and enhance health, gender, and financial equity indicators for communities, families, and individuals. She works on food systems, global health, and decentralized science projects. She holds an MA in international development & economics from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a BS in global health & neuroscience from Trinity University in Texas.
