ABOUT LINDSEY WEGER COENEN

I grew up in the Greater Boston area, and during college became increasingly concerned about the climate crisis while also interested in foreign cultures and international affairs. It became my goal to get a PhD abroad in the sustainability field to challenge myself and make a difference (and also to become fluent in a foreign language!).After completing my BSc in biochemistry at the University of Vermont, I attained a DAAD scholarship and came ‘across the pond’ to Germany. Subsequently I passed a German fluency exam to study at the RWTH Aachen University, where I earned my MSc in chemistry. I then attained my PhD at the University of Potsdam and in collaboration with the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies in Potsdam. After that, I joined Boston Consulting Group as a consultant, and most recently, GO2 Markets in Berlin.My career interests include sustainability, green energy (especially hydrogen) and the environment. My PhD work was largely focused on analyzing potential impacts from transitions in German energy on emissions and air quality. During my time at BCG, I was likewise involved in several projects on climate, sustainability, and green tech.
