I\'ve spent 23 years doing something that\'s genuinely rare: sitting at the intersection of finance, actuarial science, and day-to-day business operations — and making all three work together. Most executives land on one side of that equation. They\'re either technical (deep in models, reserving, valuation) or operational (close to the business, driving P&L decisions). I\'ve been fortunate to do both, and I think the combination is where the real value lives. At Humana, I have led finance and actuarial functions across some of the most complex portfolios in the industry — including Medicare Advantage at $74B in revenue — while staying closely connected to what was actually happening in the markets and with members. I built forecasting methodologies that materially moved the needle on earnings accuracy. I integrated siloed FP & A, controller, and actuarial teams into unified processes. And I identified the 2023 emerging medical cost trend spike ahead of the market, giving leadership the runway to act before competitors recognized what was happening. One of my proudest moments came while I was Medicare CFO during COVID, when my analytics team developed models projecting lower population morbidity and claims across the broader population — analysis that was genuinely ahead of its time. We had these answers and presented them to the board more than six months before any comparable consulting whitepapers emerged on the topic. We were right, and it prevented a projected earnings miss.I\'m an FSA and with a background in mathematics. I\'m also a Nashville Health Care Council Fellow and have completed the EY/Columbia Business School CFO Program.
