WORK HISTORY
Speech-language Pathologist Ii @Medstar National Rehabilitation Hospital
As a SLP Level II, I actively contribute to all interdisciplinary clinical teams, with a primary focus on adult and pediatric rehabilitation for individuals recovering from diagnoses such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, and brain tumors. My clinical work emphasizes the assessment and treatment of speech, language, cognition, and swallowing to help patients regain communication skills and improve quality of life.In addition to my direct patient care responsibilities, I contribute to interdisciplinary education and clinical excellence. I co-presented a hospital-wide continuing education presentation on LSVT LOUD & BIG in collaboration with SLP, PT and OT colleagues. This neuro-focused presentation highlighted evidence-based treatment approaches for individuals with Parkinson’s disease and other neurologic conditions, emphasizing interdisciplinary coordination and functional carryover across therapy disciplines.I am also committed to professional development and mentorship. I regularly mentor and provide shadowing opportunities for graduate students in speech-language pathology, supporting their growth through hands-on clinical learning and exposure to complex neurorehabilitation cases.Additionally, I serve as the SLP representative and coordinator for the Stroke Comeback Club, a program that supports stroke survivors in their recovery journeys through education, communication practice, and community engagement.Beyond clinical work, I contribute to a positive and collaborative departmental culture as an active member of the SLP Department’s Party Planning Committee, helping to foster team connection and morale.
