About Lindsay Buchanan Fisher

I’m a trial attorney at Baker Botts and represent clients in a variety of complex commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts. I have worked with a broad range of clients in disputes involving industrial accidents and crises, toxic tort claims, fraud litigation, business torts, and significant personal injury and property damage claims.I have represented clients in all stages of litigation, including pre-litigation claim assessment and strategy, discovery, motion practice, mediation, and trial preparation.Prior to joining Baker Botts, I was a litigator at a boutique firm in Washington D.C. where I defended financial services clients in actions brought under various federal and state consumer protection statutes - including the False Claims Act and TCPA - and in other complex commercial disputes. I was named by Super Lawyers (Thomson Reuters) as a \"Rising Star\" in 2019, 2020, and 2021.I received my J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2017. At Georgetown, I served as Communications Editor of the Georgetown Law Journal and Career Co-Chair of the Black Law Students Association. During my time as a student attorney for the Institute for Public Representation, I represented a national organization for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals on various matters before the Federal Communications Commission.Prior to law school, I worked as a communications fellow in the U.S. House of Representatives. I graduated summa cum laude from Howard University in 2014 with a B.A. in Journalism. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, collecting vinyl records, and writing poetry.

   Defend terminal services company in multidistrict, multi-million-dollar toxic tort case: depose plaintiffs; draft discovery requests and responses; lead five-associate team to direct discovery strategy for trial pool plaintiffs and their treating physicians; craft deposition strategy for depositions of plaintiffs and co-defendants’ experts and assist in deposition preparation for client’s employees and experts.• Serve as first-chair and second-chair counsel representing defendants in personal injury lawsuits: develop and execute discovery plan; depose plaintiffs; draft and serve pre-trial filings; develop trial strategy, including for voir dire, direct and cross examinations, and opening and closing statements; lead mediations and negotiate settlement agreements for amounts below insurance policy limits• Experience as trial counsel representing commercial real estate developer in 30-day arbitration: direct deposition prep; develop and finalize trial exhibits; secure judgment in favor of Claimant, defeating counterclaim worth $90 million.• Member of firm-wide Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Associate Liaison Committee; assist with recruiting and hiring efforts for all firm offices in the United States.
