ABOUT LINDSAY SMITH
I am a veterinarian who is passionate about working at the interface of animal, human, and environmental health within a public service career. I plan on pursuing policy-focused roles in government, international organizations, and academia.In May 2022, I graduated from a five-year dual DVM/MA program at Tufts University. I started at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (where I received my MA in International Relations) focusing on international environmental policy, sustainable development, and global health, and then completed my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. I also graduated with a Post-Graduate Certificate in International Veterinary Medicine, DVM with Thesis, and an induction into the Honos Civicus Society at Tufts, a society of individuals dedicated to civic engagement. I have experience conducting and managing field research, performing policy research and analysis, and practicing clinical medicine. I look forward to combining my scientific, medical, policy, and diplomacy backgrounds in advancing global health security policy and fostering multisectoral collaboration. My primary career interests are global health security diplomacy and pandemic preparedness policy development within the federal government and multilateral organizations.
