In this role, I partner with Concrete Jungle\'s Executive Director to provide the vision and strategy to grow CJ\'s network of foundation, corporate, government and individual donors to meet or exceed our growth and impact goals. Concrete Jungle is growing at a rapid pace, expanding on its mission of foraging, farming and supporting food access to shaping and improving how farmers deal with their edible food waste and how hunger relief organizations procure healthy food for their client base. Originally known for their fun, volunteer-led fruit picks, CJ now runs four viable programs that increase access to healthy food for Georgians, including our fastest growing program, Produce Buyers Club (PBC). Through PBC, CJ partners with farmers to collect all of their excess and \"imperfect\" produce and distribute it to food pantries and shelters via same day delivery. For many of these orgs and the people they serve, CJ is their only source of fresh produce. The research is unequivocal (take it from me, a former health and nutrition coach): eating more fruits and vegetables arms against chronic diseases and is one of the safest, fastest ways to improve your health. To date, CJ has distributed over 2.7 million pounds (equivalent to 11 million servings) of fresh fruits and vegetables to hunger relief organizations, and by doing so, improved the health of the communities we serve. I am honored to work for this incredible and innovative organization.
