About Lindsay Springer

I’m a scientist, strategist, and innovation leader passionate about reimagining how the world grows, creates, and experiences food.As Director of Plants, Nutrition, and Digital Agriculture at Gardyn, I work with multidisciplinary teams of scientists, engineers, and data specialists to develop AI-powered indoor growing systems that empower people to grow fresh, nutrient-rich produce year-round. My focus is to unite plant science, data analytics, and human-centered design to create sustainable food solutions that are as inspiring as they are transformational. Previously, as Vice President of New Product Innovation at Steuben Foods, I directed R&D programs for functional ingredients and plant-based proteins, leading concept-to-commercialization strategies for emerging food systems. My career bridges research, commercialization, and operations, enabling science-driven ideas to scale into meaningful products that improve health and sustainability.I hold a Ph.D. in Food Science & Technology from Cornell University, where I studied food chemistry, biophysics, and plant breeding, and have contributed patents and licensed technologies in the categories of CPG health & wellness, food technology, and plant cultivation. At my core, I believe innovation in food must serve both people and the planet. I thrive at the intersection of consumer insights, science, and technology, bridging key industry elements to shape the next generation of food and agriculture systems.
