ABOUT LINDSAY SCIFERS

Why Sports? Growing up, I was a multi-sport athlete and decided I wanted to work around sports, but I was not sure in what aspect. From the day I graduated, I promised myself I would do everything in my power to make the sports industry a thriving and better place. My purpose for receiving my graduate degree in sports management is to advance my knowledge in the field and learn the appropriate skills of how the behind the scenes operations run. I feel I am knowledgeable about athletics due to my background of being an athlete and am confident in my ability to manage or work in the day to day operations of how an organization is run. I want to learn and gain experience in this in every capacity possible. My ultimate goal is to be an advocate for athletes and those working in athletic organizations, companies, and departments and make them feel wanted and supported. In order for this career field to continue growing, it is important to maintain the well-being and both the physical and mental health of its employees. I would like to experience the different roles, levels, and responsibilities pertaining to managing sports organizations, events, and community events.
