About Lindsay Cornwell
Growing up in Lanesborough, Massachusetts, I was raised in a family deeply rooted in law enforcement, which instilled in me a strong commitment to community service and helping others. My values and sense of responsibility were shaped by my upbringing, which emphasized engagement with both the church and the broader community. These foundations guided me through my education at Mount Greylock Regional High School and later at Springfield College, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation and Disability Studies with a minor in Psychology. In 2014, I began my career in corrections after completing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Springfield College. I initially worked in re-entry and aftercare case management, supporting individuals transitioning back into their communities. I later graduated from the Western Massachusetts County Correctional Officers Academy and served as a correctional counselor and correctional officer. My career has focused primarily on working with incarcerated women, advocating for their needs, offering support, and helping them connect to essential resources and services throughout Berkshire County. My work has been dedicated to empowering these women to successfully reintegrate into the community while promoting public health and safety. My lifelong goal has been to drive positive change in our community, particularly by supporting individuals navigating the challenges of mental health and substance abuse. I am a passionate advocate for women’s services and am dedicated to increasing access to female-specific resources within our community. My mission is to help individuals overcome adversity, discover purpose and meaning, and use their stories of resilience to inspire and uplift others.I firmly believe that everyone deserves a second chance, and I am committed to creating pathways for healing, growth, and transformation.
