My research interests include media industry studies, children\'s media culture, and theories of stardom and celebrity. In addition to book chapters and edited collections, my work has appeared in the Journal of Cinema and Media Studies (JCMS), The Velvet Light Trap, and Interactions: Studies in Communication and Culture, among others. I teach a variety of classes in the Communication Department at BC, including Introduction to Media Studies (a foundational course for all Communication majors), Children and the Media, Critical Studies of Stardom and Celebrity, and Translating Theory to Practice (a one-credit “career readiness” course for Communication majors). I also serve in several administrative roles at BC, including Director of Undergraduate Studies for the Communication Department and elected member of the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences Educational Policy Committee, among others.
