About Linda Shi

As a pre-med student at Stony Brook University, I am pursuing dual majors in Biology and Business Management to fulfill my ultimate aspiration of establishing my own medical clinic. I am passionate about providing quality and compassionate care to diverse populations, especially those who have served our nation in the armed forces. To prepare myself for a career in medicine, I have immersed myself in a range of clinical experiences and research endeavors that have enhanced my skills and knowledge in the healthcare industry. I currently work as a medical scribe in the emergency department at ScribeAmerica, where I document real-time patient encounters, including histories, physical examinations, diagnostic tests, and treatment plans. I also work as a certified nursing assistant at the Long Island State Veterans Home, where I offer direct assistance and emotional support to the residents. Additionally, I am a research assistant in the World Trade Center Health Program under Stony Brook Medicine, where I collect, analyze, and manage data related to the health of responders, survivors, and their families. Through these roles, I have developed proficiency in medical terminology, electronic medical record systems, vital sign monitoring, rehabilitative exercises, interviewing, surveying, and data analysis. I have also learned to collaborate effectively with emergency department staff, licensed healthcare professionals, scientists, epidemiologists, and patients.
