About Linda MacDonald Glenn

I am an ethicist, futurist, and attorney-at-law with faculty appointments in the Biology and Business Departments at CSU Monterey Bay and at Crown College, UC Santa Cruz. As the founding director of the Center for Applied Values and Ethics in Advanced Technologies (CAVEAT), I lead initiatives focused on the ethical implications of emerging technologies.With over 20 years of experience in bioethics, I am passionate about exploring and addressing the ethical, legal, and social implications of cutting-edge technologies, including regenerative nanomedicine, human-machine integration, and artificial intelligence.Beyond my academic roles, I serve as a clinical ethicist, specialist reviewer for the DOD CDMRP, and consultant for various organizations and projects. I have published extensively on topics related to bioethics, biotechnology, and future technologies. I hold a J.D. and an LL.M. in Bioethics and am a life fellow of the American Bar Foundation.My mission is to promote ethical awareness, critical thinking, and social responsibility in the development and application of emerging technologies.I am honored to be named among the \"100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics\" for 2025, a prestigious recognition published annually by Women in AI Ethics (https://womeninaiethics.org/). This global initiative celebrates experts and pioneers working to ensure AI benefits are distributed equitably while protecting society from potential harms. WAIE has been elevating diverse voices in responsible AI design and development since 2018, showcasing experts from multidisciplinary backgrounds.This recognition connects me with an exceptional community of thought leaders committed to making AI more ethical, inclusive, and accessible for all.
