Having worked extensively in the field of poverty-associated infectious diseases, I am well-versed in the public health aspects of research and its implications. My experience in collaborating with various stakeholders, including UN, Gavi, the private sector and World Bank systems, has honed my ability to navigate complex organizational structures and drive impactful change. I have been a core member of the Wilton Park initiative to advocate for more focus and resources to prevent the increase in antimicrobial resistance and in tandem managed several country grants in Senegal, Zambia and Vietnam to test interventions and improve data quality. I am particularly drawn to CRDF’s mission of multisectoral and scalable approaches that promote collaborative partnerships and country-led solutions for sustainability and self-reliance. I have spent my career focused on the subnational level to engage with community health workers and traditional and religious leaders to enhance surveillance for priority diseases. My commitment to building partnerships, promoting evidence-based practices, and advocating for research in disease-endemic countries aligns closely with CRDF\'s vision and values. My educational background, which includes a PhD in virology and epidemiology, as well as a Master of Science in environmental health, coupled with my extensive field experience in more than 40 countries, makes this new job humbling and I hope I can live up to the wonderful mission of CRDF Global. I am eager to bring my expertise in research, leadership, and strategic planning to CDRF Global and contribute to its continued success in addressing global health challenges.
