About Linda S. Miller

As an operations and strategy executive, I have played a pivotal role in realizing the potential of nanoscale technology in the semiconductor and lithium-ion battery industries. My positions have encompassed leading the development of strategic priorities, building high-performance teams, establishing high-impact value networks, and cultivating long-term B2B partnerships. I spent 6-½ years at Sila Nanotechnologies as a Vice President of Account Management and Sourcing & Supply Chain Operations, all in support of the launch of the company’s Titan Silicon™ anode material. Prior to joining Sila, I spent 15 years in the semiconductor capital-equipment industry where I drove innovations in manufacturing / supply chain operations, strategic planning, technical program management, merger integration, and investment analysis / portfolio management. I have held executive positions at Applied Materials, UBS Securities and Montgomery Asset Management. Earlier in my career, I worked as a robotics researcher at Hitachi’s Mechanical Engineering Research Laboratory in Japan and design engineer at NASA / Caltech Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California.I am also passionate about mentoring and inspiring future technology leaders. In the fall of 2025, I joined the Engineering Dean\'s Leadership Council at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, my alma mater. In this role, I advise the dean on matters related to engineering education and practice, strategy, vision, and executive leadership, as well as growing and diversifying resources. As an Executive in Residence at the University of Oregon\'s Charles H. Lundquist College of Business, I engage with students and faculty on a variety of topics in technology and operations. I also serve on the school’s board of advisors where I work alongside fellow members to guide the dean on matters of strategy and future direction, ensuring the curriculum prepares graduates for the evolving needs of the business community. My professional experience combined with my academic background (Master of Arts in Regional Studies - East Asia, Japan from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute), give me a unique perspective on business and technology so that I can offer meaningful guidance to students and faculty.
