ABOUT LINDA NEUNZIG

As owner and operator of Ninety Farms for 30 years I\'ve been fortunate to be one of a small number of women farmers to create a place for women in the agriculture industry as smart, hard working business owners with a strong voice in the industry forging a culture of respect and relationships. I\'ve been on front lines of creating the Katahdin Hair Sheep breed as well as a ground floor member (past president) of the first USDA mobile slaughter unit in the U.S. Creating lifelong relationships with some of the finest chefs in the country, my lamb is featured in fine dining establishments as well as high profile events. In the last 10 years we\'ve expanded into the breeding stock export business with sheep in the Philippines and Thailand with yearly exports. In my profession government career overseeing the Snohomish County agriculture program I\'ve been instrumental in creating and implementing some of the counties most creative and important initiatives. As a natural leader who enjoys building highly effective teams to achieve positive outcomes I enjoy managing projects and bringing together diverse teams to complete tasks. In my position having a very strong understanding of all types of agriculture is key to my success, from agritourism to livestock production to produce as well as knowledge in small production to large commodity production. Proficiency in food systems from emergency planning to local food availability brings local food production full circle.
