Teacher ArtistSCENE STUDYThis class is designed to introduce the fundamentals of character development through improvisation, monologue and scene study. Special emphasis will be given to strengthening basic acting skills, building self-awareness, developing imagination and concentration, and discovering a method for creating an honest and believable character. Participants will be encouraged to select favorite plays for monologue and scenes to work on in class. Some rehearsal outside of class time is required. INTRODUCTION TO ACTINGThis introductory class is designed for non-professionals from all walks of life who are interested in exploring basic acting skills as well as developing essential skills (such as confidence, focus, creative and critical thinking and public speaking). Emphasis will be placed on practicing acting technique through creative exercises, improvisation, monologue and scene study. Special attention will be given to strengthening skills in voice, movement, character development and partnering. CONTEMPORARY SCENE STUDYPerforming Shakespeare is different than performing Mamet. Though the basic tenets of acting still apply, a skilled actor must harness the specific tools needed to create modern characters in modern situations. In this intermediate/advanced class, focus will be placed on text analysis, finding playable meaning and connections while also getting more familiar with today\'s most significant playwrights. For intermediate and experienced actors. BEYOND THE STAGE @ TRINITY REP a course that explores artistic process focusing on and relevant to the specific themes and concepts of TRC\'s work onstage.
