Never give up, never surrender!\"- Galaxy QuestI\'m a big fan of movies, and this quote from Galaxy Quest has stayed with me since the film\'s release in which was around the time my professional career was budding.At different times in my career since then, I have thought about this quote and the importance of never giving up, especially in team situations with extremely challenging projects or circumstances. At these times, though, what has also struck me as significant is that it doesn\'t matter who gets the credit when a team succeeds. If the team wins, then everyone wins, including the company and its stakeholders.While talk of team success is simple at one level, what I have observed is that there is a lot that goes into creating and sustaining a top-performing team. As an experienced team collaborator and leader, I have seen firsthand the importance of embracing the fundamentals – leadership, prioritization, organization and staff development, to name a few – in facilitating team growth. These same elements have been essential in my own growth as a team collaborator and leader involving projects and programs in such areas as market research, event planning, lead generation, product development, and data management and analysis.I always enjoy hearing from people who share my professional interests (and who also like movies).
