ABOUT LINDA J. LEVIN

Linda Levin received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Florida and her Masters Degree in Gerontology from Nova Southeastern University. Before coming to Jacksonville, she worked for the Area Agency on Aging in Broward County and the Area Agency on Aging for Miami-Dade County as well as served as the Director of the Area Agency on Aging in Rock Hill, South Carolina. The Area Agency on Aging for Northeast Florida is responsible for identifying the needs of the elderly in a 7 county region, for developing plans to meet those needs and for contracting with service providers to deliver services. Linda and her staff provide the oversight and stewardship of these contracts,ensuring the quality of the services and that those most in need receive them. Linda also manages the Aging and Disability Resource Center for the seven counties. Linda oversees the ElderSource Family of Corporations which includes ElderSource (the area agency on aging and aging and disability resource center for northeast Florida), ElderSource Institute, Friends of ElderSource and Wise Owl Properties. Ms. Levin serves on several community task forces and coalitions. She is a graduate of the National Association for Area Agencies on Aging Leadership Institute, the Regional Planning Council’s Regional Leadership Academy, Leadership Jacksonville class of 2014 and the American Society on Aging Leadership Institute. She also served as President of the Florida Association of Area Agencies on Aging and is on the Board of the Southeastern Association of Area Agencies on Aging and the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging. She has spoken before local, state and national bodies. An Eve Award Finalist, Ms. Levin is also a NBC Network Characters United Award Winner and the National Diversity Council\'s LGBTQ Ally Award Winner and served on the Governor’s Purple Ribbon Task Force.
