ABOUT LINDA FLANNERY

I wear my passion for food on my sleeve\",the evidence being from growing vegetables or canning honeyed-jams,preparing home meals or in a Restaurant setting as well as menu planning for in house and execution of off-site Catered Events or Consumable Retail! Food and how critical it is to all-living-things and the joy it brings compels me to be a Champion of unadulterated, carefully prepared food as a Business Manager or Volunteer for such activities as The Blues and Jazz Fest,Ann Arbor Film Fest,Food Gatherer\'s, Ypsilanti Heritage Fest.and local Food Co-op.s as well as a regional Food Summit. I was appointed by the Mayor of Ypsilanti to the Farmer\'s Market Board. In my youth I took a position driving a \'Food Truck\' and was so dismayed by the options,I contacted the local Dannon Yogurt Distributor to a add Yogurt to the selection and I would also stop at the grocery to buy fruit! And then there\'s history of a few outstanding St.Patrick\'s Day Parades I collaborated on planning as a partner in Frog Island Brewing Co.and as a driving force for the growth of the Michigan Brewers Guild and those that went on to take their brewing passion to market! In pursuit of my passion I\'ve involved myself in various capacities in Natural Foods,in Retail,and Restaurants as a cook/apprentice,or/and Dept.Manager with the responsibility of Hiring and Training,Scheduling,Purchasing,Sales/operating a Register,Book-keeping and Banking and also in Food Co-ops. My fascination with food-with-a life-force has brought me to the world of cheese,wine,and beer. As an evolutionist,ideas to stream-line operations come steadily. My can-do approach has resulted in back-packing trips across the nation and into Canada as well as working elbow-to-elbow to help bring like-minded food entrepreneurs ambitions to fruition be they regional or national!
