ABOUT LINDA E. ALGER

I have over a quarter century in Technical Support, first supporting Pierce Protein Research products working with scientists. However, for the past four years I have co-managed a group of engineers performing remote support for Applied Biosystems, Ion Torrent and Invitrogen laboratory instruments. My current team provides world class support for hardware, software and networking inquiries from our customers. Being in Technical Support has provided me the chance to teach, to learn and to help our customers expand their knowledge. It is a job where through direct customer interactions one can resolve issues and help researchers advance science or clinicians correctly diagnose patient samples. The work is extremely rewarding. Over the years I have had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of very talented people from many different roles and levels at the company. Everytime I have worked on a cross-functional team I have learned new insights into the business that have helped me do my job better and improve the service and support we provide to our customers. Working at a global company provides many opportunities to employees that are not available at smaller or less international companies. However, across every site I have visited, my colleagues are aware of and working synergistically towards our mission of enabling our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer.
