ABOUT LINDA CHANDLER
I’m on a mission to make digital technology part of the mainstream built environment in the next decade. As a digital place expert, my portfolio career is focussed on innovation, bringing together my 30+ years experience in technology, cities and real estate. I am currently focussed on 3 areas-· Spatial Sound & Guidance Company: Co-founder of a spatial audio platform for built environment. Our mission is to build an audio wayfinding platform to allow places to tell their own story in a post-smartphone world.· Chief Digital Officer (Fractional): Helping visionary developers deliver future-proof, digitally-enabled places that are successful—operationally, commercially, and for the people who live, work and play in them. · BRE Trustee: Working with closely with the BRE Group to improving the built environment for the benefit of society through science, engineering and in particular, digital. My most recent executive role as Chief Digital Officer at Olympia helped to re-imagine a former exhibition hall built in the Victorian era and future-proof it for the cyber-physical era. Before this I was leading Smart Cities for Microsoft in the UK and APAC for 12 years where I was at the forefront of enabling Microsoft to be a global leader in this space. Prior to Microsoft, I was CIO for the London Development Agency in the run up to the London Olympics. My early career started as a developer where I experienced many facets of the industry across systems integrators, large independent software vendors and start-ups.As a creative leader who is passionate about making a difference to society through the use of technology, digital places are where my public sector and commercial experience, strong architectural know-how and analytics background come together - a perfect match for my collaborative and entrepreneurial approach. From a technology industry perspective, I am a strong and active supporter of the women in technology movement and broader diversity & inclusion agenda.
