ABOUT LINDA BROWN
Linda Brown has worked in the arenas of Unit Publicity, Broadcast & Release PR for TV and Film, and Film Festival publicity. Recent work includes the Netflix / Shondaland original series THE RESIDENCE currently being filmed (stalled for the strike), the original anthology series GASLIT (Sean Penn, Julia Roberts)(Universal Content, STARZ); SHINING VALE: Seasons 1 and 2 (Courteney Cox, Greg Kinnear, Mira Sorvino)(WB Productions/STARZ), and PARTY DOWN (creator: Rob Thomas, with Adam Scott, Ken Marino, Jane Lynch, Ryan Hansen, Megan Mullally, Martin Starr and Jennifer Garner (Lionsgate, STARZ). Brown has worked as a unit, festival, and release publicist on countless films. Highlights include TESLA (Ethan Hawke, Jim Gaffigan, Kyle MacLaughlin, Director: Michael Almereyda); THE OUTPOST (Orlando Bloom, Scott Eastwood, Milo Gibson, Director: Rod Lurie); RESIDENT EVIL films, EXPERIMENTER (Peter Saarsgard, Taryn Manning, Kellan Lutz, Winona Ryder, Jon Leguizamo); and MGM’s remake 1980’s musical classic VALLEY GIRL. Brown spent six years at the prestigious PMK Public Relations (now PMK/HBH) during which time she spearheaded unit publicity and release campaigns for film and television projects including the launch and subsequent years as a unit and campaign strategist for the critical sensation THE SIMPSONS for 20th Century Fox Television. She initiated and developed the motion picture department at Bragman Nyman Cafarelli (BNC/HBH) and served as Director, Motion Pictures at Rogers & Cowan. She created Indie PR to bring independent publicists together to share ideas and resources in a cohesive daily office experience. Brown works closely with the studio and network PR and marketing departments. When working as a Union Publicist, Brown brings an added layer to her work by shooting BTS footage to supplement social media and traditional EPK. This has proven to save clients thousands of dollars per show. Brown has served as visual content manager on various projects and is an ITATSE, Local 600 member, enabling her to shoot on set. Brown is recognized for her work at film festivals globally and for her ability to navigate the waters for filmmakers through PR and marketing campaigns with the goal of a sale. She was featured in ICG Magazine four times as one of Hollywood’s best festival publicists, and chosen by Sundance Film Festival in its Sundance: A Festival Virgin’s Guide; as the best publicist to work at the Festival. She is also featured in Chris Gore’s Ultimate Film Festival Survival Guide where she explains the do’s and don’ts of festival publicity.
