I\'ve been building things — businesses, brands, and software — for over 25 years. That\'s a longer runway than most technical leaders have, and it shows up differently in how I approach problems.My career started in retail operations, where I eventually held three director-level roles simultaneously at a regional chain: Director of Marketing, Director of Special Projects, and Director of IT. That environment — resource-constrained, fast-moving, and results-obsessed — trained me to think like a business operator first and a technologist second. It\'s a lens I\'ve never lost.From there I made a natural pivot into software leadership: CTO at Local Discount Club, where I designed and built the platform from the ground up — architecture, database design, front-end interfaces, back-end logic — and have been building serious software ever since.For the last 25+ years, I\'ve also run a parallel freelance practice spanning 50+ clients across industries including automotive, insurance, construction, publishing, finance, manufacturing, real estate, food & beverage, and healthcare. The range forced a kind of versatility most engineers never develop — I\'ve had to understand the business deeply before writing a single line of code, because for small businesses, bad software decisions aren\'t abstract — they\'re existential.Today I work as Director of Software Development at TurboPass, a B2B SaaS fintech platform delivering automated income, employment, identity, and insurance verification to automotive dealerships, lenders, and property managers. I contribute across the full stack — complex third-party integrations, performance-critical systems handling datasets exceeding hundreds of millions of records, multi-tenant architecture, cloud infrastructure on AWS — and I care deeply about code quality: PSR-12, SOLID, KISS, DRY, composition over inheritance, and testing aren\'t just principles I can recite, they\'re things I actually enforce in the work I ship.What makes me rare: most engineers can\'t talk to a CFO about margin and then go write a webhook handler. Most business operators can\'t architect a multi-tenant SaaS platform. I\'ve spent 25 years developing both skill sets, and I\'m at the point in my career where I want to apply them at a level of scale that matches them.I also maintain three open-source Laravel packages published on Packagist — Laravel AI Actions, Filament AI Actions, and Livewire Workflows — actively used by developers in projects.
