Over the past 25 years I have worked in a number of challenging positions in the telecommunications, media, and the software industry, gaining experience in video on demand services, large scale content supply chain systems, mobile telephony, mobile applications development, digital video broadcast, internet payment systems, and cloud computing (IaaS and PaaS).At present I am the Chief Technology Officer at Dalet leading the technology and software delivery functions. I am responsible for product delivery and lead a globally distributed team with development centres in the Isreal, UK, and India. I work across the organisation to ensure that the deployment of engineering capacity is aligned with Dalet\'s objectives, vision and mission. I am also responsible for shaping the technical architecture and the utilisation of modern best practices within the engineering organisation.At Dalet and Ooyala I have been fortunate to work with the leading brands in the media and entertainment industry across the globe delivering systems that help customers manage large volumes of content across the full lifecycle from creation to distribution.My main areas of specialization are software systems architecture, team management and team development. I have designed and implemented customer care support systems, subscriber management systems, billing systems, card payment systems, affiliate systems, cloud computing orchestration and media delivery platforms. I have successfully led the transition of monolithic systems to a micro services architecture.I have been involved in multiple M&A initiatives at Ooyala as a member of the executive team responsible for the technology and product delivery function.I have experience managing both on-site and off-shore software development teams to build Internet scale applications. I have managed teams of up to 250 software developers and delivered high value green field projects as well a taking ownership of mission critical enterprise software systems.I also have experience in digital video broadcasting systems having managed the technical set up of the first digital terrestrial service provider in Malta. I was also a member of the technical start up team of the second mobile network in Malta.I have made contributions to an open source Digital Audio Workstation (Ardour) adding features and delivering a remote control app for the Android platform.Specialties: Software architecture, systems integration, systems engineering, Web UI optimization, SaaS, Kubernetes, DevOps, security and compliance, public cloud, M&A
