ABOUT LINA SCALISI
Full Professor of Early Modern History and Research Methodology at the University of Catania. Thanks to my significant contributions to the study of the political and cultural relations between Spain and the Mediterranean area in the XVI and XVII centuries, I have been awarded in 2013 the prestigious title of Academica Correspondiente of the Real Academia de la Historia de Espana. My interests spans urban history, European history and cultural history. Coordinator of the Humanities at the Scuola Superiore of Catania since 2015, I have organized international conferences and seminars with the most prominent international experts and intellectuals. Since June 2020 I am the President of the Academy of Fine Arts of Catania. Currently, I also hold the position of Vice Rector (since Sept. 25) of University of Catania.
