About Lin S. Kretschmer
I am a cancer cell biologist and biochemist with 10+ years of biomedical research experience, 7+ years medical education & practice in the fields of laboratory medicine & pathology and 5+ years of leadership roles in academic associations. In my postdoctoral research at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), I have focused on small molecule drug discovery (Kretschmer et al, bioRxiv; 2024)(Patent pending. US No.63/774,549), cancer genomics and mechanism-of-action projects. In these projects, I developed deep expertise in a broad variety of biochemical, biophysical, molecular biological, cell-based and in vivo genetically engineered mouse model techniques. Previously, I obtained a PhD in biochemistry from the University of Cologne, Germany. By applying confocal fluorescence live cell imaging and plate-based functional assays, I demonstrated that an inherited neurodegenerative disease-associated mutation causes dysfunction and morphology changes of lysosomes, which impairs the endo-exocytosis process.
