ABOUT LILY THORNE

I am 23 with a BA(HONS) in Creative and Professional Writing (Awarded 2:1). I am a self sufficient, fast learner with an eye for detail and an enthusiasm for learning with various types of writing experience. My experience ranges from copywriting, content to copy, blog posts, music journalism, fiction and non fiction. To broaden my skill set and experiences I took a years role as a Teaching Assistant at Cholsey Primary School which ends in early July. This role has allowed me to expand my people skills, multitasking, organisation, problem solving, leadership and teamwork, as well as further developing my patience! At the same time, I am studying 4 courses; Marketing Essentials, Social Media Strategy for Business (grade: Distinction), Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Excel with Pitman Training. I am developing various hard and soft skills as well as earning up to 30 CPD points. To help fund my time at University I continued to work in hospitality which required strong multitasking skills, good time management, professionalism, the importance of maintaining good humour and managing customer relations. In addition, I manage the social media for The Red Lion, Cholsey where I create and produce content for their Instagram site. My most successful campaign was a Christmas Guinness promotion which exceeded all expectations and achieved more than 10 million views and account growth of 157%. This has allowed me to put into practice and expand my skills within the field of social media marketing, a profession which I am excited and passionate about.
