I find beauty and cosmetics interesting because it is ever changing, personal to the wearer, and a commonality in how we use cosmetics in our everyday lives. Cosmetics have the power to express one’s inner beauty. It can be something practical, protective, or innovative. I love being a part of the conversation that is “beauty”. I participated in the 2022 FSF Case Study Competition and it was a great opportunity to conceptualize and innovate a new way for consumers to shop. When creating my case study, I focused on how I can provide the optimal omnichannel experience that accommodates the changing needs of a COVID-19 consumer. I decided to create a VIP Aritzia membership where an AI personal shopper/stylist guides the customer through virtual fitting rooms, which will then transfer to an in-store stylist. My top initiatives were to improve online purchase decisions, decrease returns, and enhance customer service.
