About Lily Anderson
I graduated from UCLA in March 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Public Health. During my time at UCLA, I was involved in both research and student leadership, contributing to projects in molecular neuroscience and plant ecology while also serving as Executive Director of Marketing for the Pediatric AIDS Coalition (PAC) at UCLA. In the O’Neill Lab, I helped in efforts to develop a novel in-situ thermal shift assay to study G protein activation in mouse brain tissue, while my independent research in the Kraft Lab focused on seed viability and germination as part of broader ecological restoration efforts. Through PAC, I led marketing strategy and cross-committee coordination for Dance Marathon at UCLA, one of the West Coast’s largest student-run philanthropic events, increasing site traffic, donor engagement, and fundraising outcomes. In August 2025, I will begin my role as a Junior Global Surgery Fellow with Operation Smile, where I will contribute to global surgery research that supports the organization’s mission to improve cleft care and strengthen surgical systems.
