About Lily Witkowski

I graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Journalism, specializing in the News and Information track with a concentration in Sports Media, along with a minor in Sports Management. During my time at KU, I gained hands-on experience as an on-air talent, produced highly acclaimed shows, and launched a women\'s mentorship program within the Journalism School. Now in my first year of graduate school at KU, I am pursuing a master’s degree in Sports Management while serving as a graduate assistant for Kansas Athletics Communications. In this role, I am the Sports Information Director for the softball and cross country teams, wearing many hats each day to manage media relations, content creation, and storytellingIn the summer of 2023, I interned as a content creation team member for the National Fastpitch Association & as a communication intern for Kansas Athletics. I interned for Kansas Athletics Communications in the 20••••24 school year, serving as the lead point of contact for the Kansas Rowing team regarding social media, media requests, press releases, and recaps. I am passionate about sports and aspire to leverage my on-air broadcasting, writing, and content creation skills to secure my dream job in the field in the coming years.

   Serve as primary media contact for Kansas Volleyball and Softball, managing all media relations, interviews, press releases, game notes, and statistical tracking-Lead media and content operations for both programs, including weekly content planning meetings, strategic social media campaigns, and post-game coverage-Travel with teams to manage on-site media operations, ensuring consistent coverage, organization, and smooth team-coach communications-Oversee interns for Women’s Swimming & Diving and Rowing, ensuring quality content creation, social media management, and consistent media standards across programs-Acted as media coordinator for the first and second rounds of the NCAA Championships, hosted in Horejsi Volleyball Arena over the last two seasons (20••••25)-Create and manage social media campaigns for Volleyball and Softball, including seasonal content, post-game highlights, and fan engagement strategies
