About Lily Waterman
I am a fourth-year undergraduate student at Purdue University studying mechanical engineering and entrepreneurship and innovation. Currently, I am conducting research at Warsinger Water Lab to continue projects started through this year’s Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship at Purdue University. My research focuses on the development of membranes for high-efficiency dehumidification. I am highly motivated and hold myself to the highest standards regarding my work. In my free time, I enjoy spending as much time in nature as possible with my dog and rowing on the Wabash River. Outside of the classroom, I am Vice President of Purdue Crew, an active member of Pi Tau Sigma, and Director of Scoring for the Purdue Grand Prix Foundation. These opportunities allow me to grow various technical and transferable skills for Purdue and beyond. I am pursuing post-graduate employment in clean energy and HVAC as well as funded graduate school programs to further explore how my passion for mechanical engineering can lead to a greener future.

I correspond with over 70 student and alumni teams on proper transponder management and promptly fix issues with transponders and scoring system, analyze each kart’s performance during practices, qualification, and race through use of scoring software. I delegate tasks to Junior Board members and provide mentorship for successful involvement within the foundation and beyond. Previously served 2 years on the Junior Board.
