ABOUT LILY REESE
I’m a third-year Journalism student at the University of Oregon and an Honors student in the Clark Honors College, with a minor in Food Studies. I focus on feature-driven reporting that centers people, context, and the systems shaping culture, food, and community.I currently serve as an Editorial Lead Copyeditor for Ascend Magazine, a Writing Intern for the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication, and a contributor to Ethos Magazine, Align Magazine, and the Oregon Daily Emerald. My work spans long-form features, profiles, copyediting, and institutional storytelling.I’m especially drawn to stories that uncover overlooked perspectives and explore complexity with nuance and care. I’m driven by journalism that makes readers pause, think, and feel—and that treats storytelling as both craft and responsibility.I’m seeking reporting and editorial opportunities where I can continue growing as a writer and producing thoughtful, people-centered journalism.
