About Lilly Parr
I am a third-year undergraduate student at the University of Florida majoring in Biology on a pre-medical track, with a minor in Communication Studies.I am actively involved in translational neuroscience research focused on the blood–brain barrier and neuropathology associated with traumatic brain injury, substance use, and HIV. My work emphasizes histological and imaging-based techniques, including tissue microdissections, paraffin and cryosectioning, immunohistochemistry, H&E staining, gross tissue processing, and fluorescence and confocal microscopy. I regularly image samples using Invitrogen EVOS systems and contribute to projects aimed at advancing disease modeling and understanding cellular and vascular dynamics relevant to clinical populations.Alongside research, I served as President of the Veterans Outreach Program, where I led clinical volunteering initiatives in the pulmonary unit at the Malcolm Randall VA Medical Center and helped raise over to support veteran-focused programs. I am also a former Teaching Assistant for General Chemistry I and II, supporting instruction and student mentorship, and I continue to tutor students in General and Organic Chemistry.I am additionally involved in Chemistry Club, Alpha Zeta, and Chi Omega. Within Alpha Zeta, a selective academic honor society in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, I served as President of my pledge class. In Chi Omega, I have held multiple leadership roles, including Recruitment Scoring Chair and Computer Chair, Junior Panhellenic Council service delegate, and representative in the Doulos Young Leaders Group.
