    The Resilient Sisterhood Project

Jun 2012 — Present · Boston, MA, US

The Resilient Sisterhood Project (RSP) is a Boston-based nonprofit founded in 2012 to inform and empower women and girls of African descent affected by diseases of the reproductive system. Regardless of ethnicity or socioeconomic status, Black women in the US have persistently higher rates of hormone-related diseases and conditions of the reproductive system that are often underdiagnosed and under-treated. Since 2012, RSP’s impact includes breaking the silence around health issues such as: uterine fibroids, endometriosis, PCOS, infertility, breast and cervical cancer, early puberty, and maternal mortality and morbidity. With workshops, training, and collaborations with community partners, RSP raised awareness of the link between reproductive health, medical inequities, chronic stress of racism, and toxic chemicals. RSP’s work has led to better advocacy, education, health outcomes, and policy changes. RSP serves a demographic of Black women and girls between the ages of 15-99+ from all socioeconomic levels, focusing on underserved communities. Within these communities, RSP provides safe spaces for interactive and uplifting co-learning and collaborative projects and continues to be considered a well-known, reliable educational resource nationally. Please visit us at:
