About Lillian Smith
As an educator with a foundation in Political Science from the University of North Texas, I’ve built my career around service, leadership, and creating inclusive environments for all learners. My journey began at the YMCA, where I served as an Associate Aquatic Director, developing programs that combined safety, skill-building, and community engagement.For the past five years, I’ve been dedicated to teaching special education, starting in Dallas ISD, where I also led the Special Education Department for three years at Stevens Park Elementary School. In that leadership role, I collaborated closely with staff, supported compliance and instructional goals, and advocated for student success at every level.Now at Uplift Education, I’ve returned to the classroom full-time, bringing with me years of experience, a passion for individualized instruction, and a deep commitment to student growth. I’m focused on creating a positive, inclusive, and high-expectation learning environment where every student is seen, supported, and challenged.
