Project management of two research projects; Rare Diseases RNA Phenotyping project and Long Read Sequencing (LRS) project. I oversee the management of projects pertaining to various sample cohorts from BioResource themes (Rare Diseases, Mental Health and Healthy Controls). I fulfil study requests involving sample processing of banked samples to match the requirements of researchers of approved stage 2 studies and/ or commission, pilot and manage projects to deliver specific biological assays utilising the samples such as genotyping, sequencing or proteomics. I coordinate the two research projects with the relevant teams Samples, Bioinformatics, Recruitment, Informatics, Ethics, and Finance. The role involves establishing networks of internal teams and external collaborations (King\'s Genomics lab, Oxford Nanopore, Genomics England etc). I report on progress at dashboard meetings – presentations/ written reports. Liaise and support NIHR BioResource recruiting teams at Local Centres and at recruiting NHS Trusts as necessary. Raising purchase orders and approving invoices for work completed at service laboratories. Budget responsibility for laboratory projects. Use of project management tools e.g. JIRA, Confluence to identify risks and generate reports of sample workflow, and present these to Sample Management team, and others when necessary. Reporting of project portfolio and dashboard at Project management office meetings. Ensuring meticulous and accurate storage of electronic data for audit and review. Negotiation and liaison with suppliers.
