About Liliang Ren
Hi! I am currently a Member of Technical Staff in Microsoft AI Superintelligence Team. I earned my PhD in computer science from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where I was fortunate to be advised by Prof. Chengxiang Zhai, and work with Prof. Heng Ji and Prof. Julia Hockenmaier. My long-term research goal is to develop artifical neural architectures that have superhuman efficiency and interpretability, and apply them to discover new structured knowledge from natural signals. Specifically, I am interested in:1. Efficient and Interpretable Sequence Modeling: dynamic and modular sparsity for long sequence modeling, language modeling with latent type learning.2.
