ABOUT LILIA CHACON

I am a consummate communicator who knows the ins and outs of politics, media and messaging. As an award-winning journalist I covered some of the biggest stories of our time, including the Oklahoma City bombing, Hurricane Andrew, the North Ridge CA earthquakes and the death of Pope John Paul II. Awards include 6 Emmy\'s, a Peabody Award and an Edward R. Murrow. I specialized in live news, breaking news, investigative stories and political coverage.I love working without a net. I am cool under pressure and can deliver the goods on the tightest deadlines. Most recently I have put my combo-platter of talents to work for the City of Santa Fe and its exciting new team of professionals, committed to leading this ancient city into a bright future. I respond to media requests, manage social media, write press releases, produce videos and manage events that delight attendees and generate media coverage. Most importantly I showcase the hardworking people of the City of Santa Fe and help residents and visitors access everything this beautiful place has to offer. Previously I worked for GreenMark PR and the Bernie Sanders campaign in Iowa. Through these efforts I successfully raised the client\'s profile and made them a part of important conversations affecting taxpayers, families and entrepreneurs. There is no secret to good communication; it is clear, engaging and results-oriented. My work has been a perfect marriage of who and what I know, and I\'m still learning.
