She is the first African-American woman in the nation to earn a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and the first African-American to start an engineering consulting firm focused on the environment and its environmental issues. This has helped shape the unique company PEER is today — a steward of the environment that continually promotes collaboration, builds a sense of community through its work, and strives to create a better planet for present and future generations. Using a personalized approach every time, we focus on solving today\'s challenging environmental problems.
