ABOUT LILI DASKAIS
I fell in love with storytelling as a child, creating stories with my stuffed animals in her room. For about a decade, I trained with Piven Theatre Workshop in Evanston, IL where I was taught to embrace the spirit of play, ensemble work, and community. Outside of performance, I love to read and write; I am an aspiring playwright and I\'ve written several plays during my time at Muhlenberg College. During my last semester (Spring 2023), I began the process of writing my first full length play (60+ pages) and competed an exploratory draft under the guidance of Gabriel Jason Dean. As of 2025, I have two full length plays in process and multiple one acts. Please reach out if you\'d be interested in doing a writer\'s workshop or staged readings; I\'d love to connect with fellow playwrights and writers of all genres. Let\'s rewind a bit for a moment. In the Spring of 2021, I took my love of books and co-founded The Book Nook, a student organization and community of book-lovers. I am also a member of the Graduate School Preparatory Program through my alma mater. I am currently working as a remote Reading Tutor at Book Nook and Tutor/Mentor at The Sunshine Method, two virtual tutoring platforms working to strengthen literacy and social emotional learning skills in K-12 students across multiple states. The irony of working for a company called Book Nook when I co-founded a student group called The Book Nook (TBN) is not lost on me (crazy, right!)I also work as a theatre teaching artist for youth and I\'m auditioning for productions in the Chicago metropolitan area. Overall, I hope to continue making a positive impact on young people\'s lives and use my art to propel positive social change while building community. Looking forward to connecting with folks with shared passions and values!
