ABOUT LIISA TIPMAN
Liisa is an experienced land use planner with an expert understanding of all facets of the planning process. Joining the CMRB in February 2018 as its first employee, Liisa was instrumental in establishing the operational processes and procedures of the CMRB. Beginning in 2019, she oversaw the planning aspects of developing the Calgary Metropolitan Region’s first Growth and Servicing Plans as mandated by the Government of Alberta. Liisa continues to provide strategic and project development support on a wide range of Board initiatives as the CMRB’s only on-staff professional planner. Previous to her work at the CMRB, Liisa gained a thorough understanding of municipal policy development and long-range planning, acting as a lead consultant in development projects, municipal development plans, growth studies, and strategic plans and annexations for urban and rural municipalities across Alberta. Her land use planning focus has included industrial, institutional, natural resource, and residential development projects. She received her master’s degree in planning from the University of Calgary in 2007.
