Exploring Diasporic Futures | Foresight & Somali IdentityAs part of this fellowship, I’m building on my foresight practice by researching diasporic futures, focusing on Somali communities. My work explores how understanding the past evolutions of Soomaalinimo (the essence of Somali identity) can unlock new ways for young Somalis in Britain and Canada to imagine their futures. At the heart of this work are themes of belonging, migration, and displacement - all examined using foresight methodology. My research will be designed with my community and the outputs will be showcased in art-based formats to maximize accessibility for all.
